Fr. Ejike Mbaka’s Biography

Camillus Anthony Ebenezer Ejike Mbaka, also known as Father Mbaka, is a Nigerian Catholic priest, musician, and the creator of Adoration Ministries in Enugu. One of the most well-known religious figures in the southeast of Nigeria, he is well-known for his radical evangelism.

Early Years

Mbaka was raised by his family of palm wine tappers (late Chief Humphrey Ogbuefi and Felicia Mbaka) in Amata Ituku, Awgu Local Government Area, Enugu State, where he was born. He received his secondary schooling at St. Vincent’s Secondary School, Agbogugu in the Enugu State local government of Awgu.

Priesthood

When he was a child, Fr. Mbaka organized Block Rosary devotion in their neighborhood. He also gave praise to the St. Anthony’s Parish in Ituku’s prayer warrior squad, which was revitalizing Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

Father Mbaka’s heathen father fiercely opposed his aspiration to become a Catholic priest. His father and family rejected the idea of him becoming a priest. But on July 29, 1995, at Holy Ghost Cathedral in Enugu, His Lordship Bishop Michael Ugwujah Eneja consecrated him as a Catholic priest.

Mbaka attended St. Joseph’s Seminary in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, and Seat of Wisdom Seminary in Owerri, Imo State, for his priesthood education.

On July 29, 1995, he was ordained as a Melchizedek priest by the Roman Catholic Church. After receiving his ordination, Fr. Mbaka was given the position of Assistant Diocesan Administration at Holy Ghost Cathedral in Enugu.

Fr. Mbaka went on evangelistic trips outside the cathedral while serving as an assistant diocesan administrator. He frequently traveled to Capuchin and G.T.C. Enugu to hold services for the faithful. The Eucharistic Jesus Word Prayer Center was subsequently established by him, and it later evolved into Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria. (AMEN).

In numerous parishes within the Enugu Diocese, including Christ the Kings Parish in GRA and Our Lady of Roses Parish in Emene, he has worked as a parish priest. Weekly services are held at Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), which attracts thousands of followers.

Controversies

Fr. Mbaka charged that Governor Chimaroke Nnamani was responsible for the rush that claimed the lives of ten worshipers and an unborn child in 2001.

The late Sani Abacha, Chimaroke Nnamani, Ikedi Ohakim, Rochas Okorocha, Goodluck Jonathan, Muhammadu Buhari, Emeka Ihedioha, and other politicians have received criticism from Fr. Mbaka.

Before the 2020 court ruling, he prophesied Hope Uzodimma would be elected governor of Imo State.

On December 31, 2014, Mbaka addressed a congregation and implored them to remove the then-president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan from office because he had failed to halt the rise of corruption and insecurity in the nation. Fr. Mbaka has asked for a change in the administration in accordance with his priestly and prophetic ministry. Fr. Mbaka has continuously directed, counseled, and forewarned every government in Nigeria ever since he was ordained as a priest in the Roman Catholic Church.

Mbaka demanded that President Buhari step down on April 28, 2021, due to the escalating insecurity in Nigeria. In response to Mbaka’s call, the Nigerian Presidency released a statement via Garba Shehu that claimed Mbaka was unhappy that President Buhari ignored his request for contracts after he made the request as compensation for his support in 2015 and 2019.
